One of Canada's most distinguished historians, Michael Bliss is Professor of History at the University of Toronto. He writes regularly on public issues in newspapers and magazines and comments often in the broadcast media. he has written nine books, which have won numerous awards, including the Sir John A. Macdonald Prize and F-X Garneau Medal of the Canadian Historical Association, the Tyrrell Medal of the Royal Society of Canada and the National Business Book Award. Recent publications include:
